Turquoise Obsession

Those who know me well, know I am completely obsessed with the colour turquoise., and this obsession really shows when it comes to jewellery. I’ve lost count of how many pieces of jewellery I have in every single shade of turquoise you could possibly have, but a girl can’t have too much turquoise jewellery, right? Here are my latest obsessions.

CFDA Fashion Awards 2016

So the CFDA Fashion Awards 2016 just recently took place so what better time to round up a few of my favourite red carpet looks from the awards.

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley always looks amazing, whatever event she attends or even if she’s snapped exiting the gym. I love the elegance of her dress here. Although it’s quite simple, it’s actually what makes it so beautiful in my opinion. Same goes for Emily Ratajkowski’s dress. Again it’s simple and elegant without trying too hard, but complete opposite end of the colour spectrum from Rosie’s colour of choice.

Josephine’s dress is very glamorous and the bright red colour adds a touch of old Hollywood glam to her look.  I have to say though, I’m not hugely in love with the hair style but I think the dress is beautiful.

Ciara’s look was actually the first CFDA Fashion Awards look I saw this year and immediately fell in love with it. Given it’s the CFDA awards I think you should definitely have a little fun with your look and I think her Roberto Cavalli dress is definitely fun and flirty!

What were your favourite red carpet looks from this year’s CFDA Fashion Awards?

As always, let me know your thoughts.

Clean Skincare

Skincare is the one thing I don’t scrimp on. I’m not overly fussy about buying expensive mascaras, eyeliners, lip liners and lipsticks (but don’t get good quality confused with an expensive price tag) but I am VERY fussy when it comes to my skincare (check out my previous post here). I’d rather use fewer products but just make sure those products are of the highest quality -and in skincare that generally means spending quite a bit!

Wherever possible I try to use clean skincare products. By clean I mean natural and organic- free from parabens, nasty chemicals, mineral oils and silicone! Silicone is a no-no for me, to the extent that I’ve been opting for silicone and oil-free daily face moisturiser and foundation for at least the last five years.

If you’re looking for a natural foundation then I couldn’t recommend Bare Minerals mineral powder or the Laura Mercier mineral powder highly enough- they’re so gentle on the skin and leave a really natural finish. Both are oil and silicone-free 🙂

In terms of skincare products I love love love cold-pressed organic coconut oil. Anyone who knows me knows how obsessed with this product I am. I could talk about its benefits all day long. I mean I cook with it, take my makeup off (it’s THE best makeup remover for both face and eyes), use it as a hair mask, face moisturiser and body moisturiser! If you’ve got oily, problematic skin please don’t panic. As long as you use cold-pressed raw organic coconut oil (where the ingredient is only the coconut itself) it will never clog your pores, in fact coconut oil has anti-bacterial properties.

I also love Ren Skincare, Caudalie and Sophyto products. Each brand offers gentle, natural products that won’t aggravate or clog up your pores and most of the products are silicone free.

Another skincare brand that I’ve recently started to use, and absolutely love, is Omorovizca. All the products are formulated with Hungarian natural mineral thermal water and are parabens free, nasty chemicals-free and best of all, silicone free! I’m currently using their Blue Diamond eye cream and copper face scrub- this leaves your skin squeaky clean, I absolutely love this product. These products aren’t exactly cheap but the results are totally worth it.

Let me know if you end up trying any of these skincare products or if you’ve got any good recommendations of your own!

Lately I’ve been really obsessed with fine, dainty jewellery. I’ve always loved costume jewellery but for a while now I’ve been opting for the delicate necklaces and thin stacking rings over the bigger, chunkier jewellery pieces.

There are a lot of jewellery brands and designers I’m in love with, but there’s one in particular I absolutely adore, and that’s Luna Skye by Samantha Conn. All the pieces of jewellery are so so pretty- I want to buy them all…#iwish

Here are a few of my latest loved from Luna Skye.

Summer Dresses

Anyone that knows me, knows that I love summer, it’s my favourite season and it’s also the season I find easiest to dress for. I never struggle to find the right dress, tops, shoes etc, well apart from flats, I still struggle with finding the perfect flats, whether it be sandals or shoes, but generally speaking I find shopping for summer clothes very easy!

I’ve just recently come across a new brand, Neve & Noor, that does the most perfect summer dresses and accessories – I thought I’d share a few of my favourites.

Off-shoulder tops and dresses are big this summer, they’re easy to wear and can be dressed up or down. I love Neve & Noor’s Peony dress and the pink Rose Dress is a great addition if you’re looking for something flirty but still airy.

Their grey stripe bag is perfect for the beach or for summer city breaks.

What do you think? Have you come across any cool new brands? If so, please do share x

Girl Crush: Amal Clooney

It’s be a pretty long time since I last updated my blog. I took a little bit of a break and whilst I’ve been offline I’ve decided to move my blog over from Blogger to WordPress as I think it allows you to do so much more and the features are more advanced.

Anyways,  enough about the technicalities of the blog, let’s dive into some serious style envy. If you’ve seen my Instagram you’ll know I’ve got a major girl crush on Amal Clooney. I mean, what’s not to like? She’s got brains, beauty and great style. Personally I think she’s a great role model for young girls.

Here’s her amazing Cannes Film Festival look.

The pale yellow Atelier Versace dress compliments her colouring and gorgeous figure perfectly. I particularly love her hair- the colour and curls are so pretty.

Winter style

Winter Style. Temperatures have definitely been falling lately and I have to say it’s now starting to feel like winter!
Normally I’m always complaining about the cold and I’m not a huge fan of the winter season, I’ll be the first one to admit it, but I have to say this winter has been so mild so far that I’m kind of wishing for colder weather!! I love Christmas and to me it’s not a proper Christmas without some cold weather.
So, as the temperatures have finally started to dip I thought I would be a great idea to share some winter style inspiration- because I don’t know about you, but I’m constantly needing winter wardrobe inspiration during these chillier months of the year.
For me, coats, hats, scarves, boots and jumpers need to be in the dozens in order to keep outfits interesting- because after all how many times can you wear a jumper, coat, trouser, boots combo without it starting to get a little boring and mundane?

Opulence. It’s all about opulence and glamorous dresses in this post.
As the holiday season is pretty much upon us, now is the time to start thinking about our glad rags and I’m specifically talking about evening dresses.
Every now and again it’s amazing to dress up and these images are certainly giving me some inspiration. I’m basically in love with every dress in this post! I normally tend to go for a more simple, minimalistic approach to my every day dressing however when it comes to attending special events I always gravitate towards intricate and detailed dresses. I’m not going to lie, I would be more than happy to own and wear all of the dresses in this post!
You’ll notice on my Pinterest account I have a much bigger collection of glamorous dresses, but I thought it might be best to break down my dress obsession one post at a time 😉 so keep an eye out for some more opulent posts featuring some serious evening dresses that will make you want to go attend every ball possible!

Summer Sunshine

Blue and white summer outfit in Italy
Summer Sunshine. Now that it’s finally started to get cold, grey and gloomy I’m instantly wishing it was summer once more. Really missing that hot sunshine, tanned skin and Vitamin D dosage 😉
Everything looks better in summer and days seem endless (not like now when it’s pretty much game over at 3pm!).
However I don’t have to wait too long for some much needed sunshine, Bali is only around the corner 🙂
Anyone else have any plans to escape the cold weather and head somewhere tropical?
